Woo Instant Notifications is a Plugin for WooCommerce that will allow you to automatically print orders to a standard printer (Inkjet or Laser-jet) or a thermal receipt / POS / Till printer. The Plugin allows you to design the look of your receipts and to define the email address to which the receipt will be sent automatically. It also provides the possibility upon what conditions the emails with the receipt data will be sent to the defined email address (For example a new order is placed, order is cancelled etc.). In addition to the above it allows you to create multiple receipts with different content, so that you can have printouts with different content ( for example a receipt for the customer, a receipt for the Kitchen personnel in case used in a restaurant, or receipt for the delivery personnel).
How it works?
The Plugin is responsible for sending emails with the order data to a predefined email address configured in woo instant notifications. You basically have two options for printing hardware:
A Printer, connected to a PC that runs Mozilla Thunderbird and auto printing add-ons installed (see below).
The first option requires you to have a computer with the Mozilla Thunderbird email client installed and configured with a print job email address to print incoming messages automatically. In addition to the above you will also need the FiltaQuilla and Printing Tools NG addons for Thunderbird. Mozilla Thunderbird checks on a regular interval for any new emails and once a new email with the order details is received it gets printed via the printer connected to the computer that runs Mozilla Thunderbird.
The above setup is useful if you don’t want to invest in additional printers and if you already have a computer with a printer installed on site.
In case you need a professional solution that does not require you to install and configure a computer with Mozilla Thunderbird at the site, you can use one of the WiFi / Lan printers that we supply, which are connecting directly to the internet, they have their own email addresses pre-configured and they are regularly checking / polling their email addresses for new emails with order data. The only thing you need to do is to connect the printer to the internet via WiFi or LAN through your WiFi Router and add the printer email address in your notification in Woo Commerce settings. In addition to the above you get a PRO version of the Woo Instant Notifications with the purchase of a printer from us.
Below is a video demo of the WooPrinter WiFi

Mozilla ThunderBird is a great email client that provides not only the possibility to check and write emails but it also provide some really cool automation features, thanks to the additional addons, available from mozilla. In This Blog post we will review the possibility of using Mozilla ThunderBird for automatically printing emails based on certain conditions that we define.
So, to start with we will need Mozilla ThunderBird installed and email address configured and the addons listed below:
FiltaQuilla (email filtering addon)
Printing Tools NG (Advanced printing tool addon)
FiltaQuilla is used to filter incoming emails and for defining the conditions upon which the received email gets printed.
Printing Tools NG is used for setting up custom printing options and also to allow you to issue print action without the user interaction e.g to print automatically
So, enough words , the video below lists all the steps needed to configure automatic email printing with Mozilla ThunderBird
Ok, setting up Mozilla ThunderBird for automatic email printing is very easy and can be done for less than 2 minutes, but what are the possible use cases for that?
Printing WooCommerce / WordPress orders automatically ( Check Woo Instant Notifications ) which gives you the ability to easily manage, process and print online orders.
Printing order emails automatically from other CMS such as Drupal , Joomla, OpenCart, Wix etc. that will allow you to easily manage and process online orders.
Printing important messages automatically from colleagues or from the loved ones.
Dont forget to look at the Printers that we offer for automatic email printing on thermal paper. These printers are affordable and it will save you a lot of money as the thermal receipt paper is extremely cheap .
WooPrinter-WiFi – Wireless wiFi 802.11n thermal receipt printer that connects directly to the internet via WiFi and checks regularly its own unique email address for new messages that has to be printed.
WooPrinter-Lan – Rj45 wired thermal receipt printer that connects directly to the internet via Lan cable / Wired connection and checks regularly its own unique email address for new messages that has to be printed.
The above printers are extremely useful as you don’t have to setup / run a PC and a printer, bothering installing Thunderbird as the software is already built in these printers and they are ready for use. The only thing needed is to connect to the Internet either via WiFi or via a LAN / RJ45 cable.
In this Blog post we will share our experience with the possibility to print automatically order receipts, packing slips and additional custom order data.
We have several online web shops where we sell different hand crafted products, manufactured by us. With the time we needed a way to improve our order management process with the possibility to print each new order automatically with order details, shipping address and in addition a packing slip. To save time and money we have decided to develop our own plugin to allow us to print this data on a receipt printer as printing each order on A4 paper is a bit expensive in terms of paper , ink etc and definitely not environmental friendly.
We have made a plugin that sends formatted plain text emails specially formatted for print with 58mm Thermal Receipt printers. These emails are triggered based on the order status change (for example when a customer makes new order the status changes from pending to processing and a new email with the order data is sent to the email address configured in the plugin). On the receiving side a Mozilla Thunderbird client with a auto-print addon and filters that will detect a specific keyword and automatically send the email for printing to the thermal printer is used, thus printing each order on a thermal printer paper.
