NanoHat-SPDIF is a SPDIF addon board for the Allwinner H3/H5 based NanoPi NEO / NEO2 series of embedded development boards from FriendlyArm that enables you to enjoy Hi-Res Digital Audio with Sampling Rates of up to 768kHz 24bits.
The NanoHat addon board, together with your NanoPi NEO/NEO2 SBC, brings Hi-Res Audio Streaming for your existing existing Amplifier and Speakers. With both Optical and RCA Interfaces available you will be able to connect to a digital S/PDIF receivers and enjoy your favourite audio tracks.
Specifications
S/PDIF Optical and S/PDIF Coaxial RCA ( via insulation transformer) output. The board comes assembled and tested with all the components soldered. We have crafted a custom Linux distribution (by HWG) based on buildroot and Linux Kernel 4.14 that runs mpd, upmpd-cli and shairport-sync and enables you to stream hi-res music from all your devices (via AirPlay or DLNA to the nanopi equipped with the NanoHat-SPDIF. Supports NanoPi-NEO series (NanoPi NEO, NanoPi NEO Air, NanoPi NEO Core). NanoPi-NEO2 series (NanoPi NEO2, NanoPi NEO Plus2, NanoPi NEO Core2). Suitable for direct panel mount (add network audio streaming capabilities to your existing DAC/AMP

The NanoHat-SPDIF is Open Source Software and Open Source Hardware Project.
